I emailed them a while ago to ask how they differ from the Superchip's bodge (not in those words tho').

I got not reply, so I made my own conclusion ;)

I have one in my cosworth, there o.k but your better off getting it live mapped instead of an off the shelf chip as mine was found to be under fueling at 155mph!

The only Scooby ECUyou can physically 'CHIP' is a Pre96 UK or WRX (WRX need a socket soldered in).

1997-1998 ECU require and adaptor board
1999 > are not chip-able but are reprogrammable. The only Software that I know that can do it is ECUTEK.

If anything else is fitted to the outside of the ECU, then the chances are it is just a boost clamp and the timing/fuelling remain un-touched (as per a Superchip)

A Cossie ECU is chipable.

I'm not saying that powerchips arn't any good. In fact I think they are done by Collins Enginnering who chipped my Series 1 turbo a good few years back with great results.

But the general feeling is that after market chips are just boost clamps for these ECU.

Scott

Reading your post - any idea what is reprogrammed with the TEc 2.5 ?
i.e. does it use a standard ECU and then that is reprogrammed or is a replacement reprogrammed ECU?
