DaveBlueRA 21 December 2003 10:25 PM

Me mate has a P1 with a 22B bottom end 22B turbo.
He has got a full scorpion zorst and a induction kit on.

He did the 1/4 at Midnight Racing and got 12.6

That doesnt sound right to me when you look at the power and times of the car at scooby shooout

What do you think?

scooby_si 21 December 2003 11:25 PM

as in too quick?
Si

scooby-si 22 December 2003 12:01 AM

wot ecu and wot bhp and torque m8

22B turbo.
they are only good for 340bhp tops so i take it he is running 330/340 ish if so its about right thats if my bhp figures are right

DaveBlueRA 22 December 2003 12:11 AM

Standard ecu i belive.

No idea about what bhp or torque

BlackScoobyWRX 22 December 2003 09:13 AM

It was wet and windy so I'd say if he did a 12.6 he did exceptionally well - most scoobs were in the 14's/15's!!

Marx Mcrae 22 December 2003 04:02 PM

Midnight cruise qtr mile is cr@p cos your going DOWN hill in case you hadnt noticed. In my uk turbo with just an exhaust on i was doing 12.6 where as at scooby shootout the proper time was 13.6

We had this disscusion after the last midnight cruise

Hey guys I smell a little porkie or 2 here! Nobody did anywhere near that time on Saturday! The overall quickest was a 13.32 (EVO rally car with over 400 bhp), IIRC none of the Subarus got into the 13s, 14.5 ish was about it.

Who really cares though? You are right in that it is downhill, it was also damp and very cold (I was stood there for 6 hours!) and towards the end there was mud on the start line. Although unrealistic in true terms I think those who gave it a go did enjoy themselves!

BTW - whoever is claiming they were in the 12s - tell me their entry number and I am sure I could dig out the real time ;0)

Edited to correct fastest time now I have the data in front of me!

j_p_h 22 December 2003 08:36 PM

From what i remember from the one before last the times did seem to be very inacuarte. Havent heard no times from the recent one.

Take peccy for example he usually got low to mid 13's at the pod etc then went there and got well in the 12's lol with a knackered box amongst other things at the time.

grubbster 22 December 2003 08:47 PM

The timing was done by MST and was very accurate (from green light - not the time the car actually moves), the 1/4 mile was precise, the conditions were not good though. I do have the full list of final times if anyone is interested!

j_p_h 22 December 2003 08:51 PM

Did that apply for the one before lasts timing ?

grubbster 22 December 2003 08:53 PM

If you are asking me about timing accuracy - I don't know, I wasn't involved with the previous event. Plans for next year are looking good though . . .

DaveBlueRA 23 December 2003 12:55 AM

Any chance you can post the times and cars on here?

[Edited by DaveBlueRA - 12/23/2003 12:57:16 AM]

BlackScoobyWRX 23 December 2003 09:28 AM

Hope you're right about Scooby timings Grubbster coz that would make mine the fastest Scoob on the night - I did just creep into the 13's and that time was posted up :p

Agree about the overall timings tho' - deffo quicker here than any other 1/4's I've done

grubbster 23 December 2003 09:53 AM

I could put the times up - I don't have the cars (only the numbers and drivers names) - I'll sort it later.

DaveBlueRA 23 December 2003 05:23 PM

Yeah please post them if you can.

grubbster 23 December 2003 08:59 PM

BlackScoobyWRX and DaveBlueRA - YHM!

grubbster 23 December 2003 10:27 PM

The next step is to try and work out what all the cars were - whatever I can learn I will add to the site. From memory I can start things off, please add to the list as best you can!

Dazza's-STi 23 December 2003 11:34 PM

My Sti8 PPP 13.04 but had just under 1/2 tank of fuel... To run a 12.6 then your looking @ 320-340bhp this would alow for the wieght difference i.e. my car is 1440kg "without the spare wheel" i suspect the P1 is lighter slightly!
