You know how it is. Find your car unlocked in the morning when you're sure you locked it last night???? Really relieved this morning to see my car (Bugeye STi) unlock itself in reponse to my neighbour's keyfob, as he opened his car (S-type Jag) ready to vacuum it out!! I'm not going potty after all!!
Does this happen by virtue of A) The very existence of a signal at the appropriate frequency, or B) by virtue of the information contained within that signal?? And, if B), can I solve the problem by getting my dealer to reprogram my keyfob/ECU??? TIA Phil |
does ur fob open his car?
|
This is a bit worrying
|
goonasuk - haven't tried... probably not, tho'
DaveBlueRA. Indeed!!! Tho' fortunately my Scooby has "additional security measures"! :) Phil |
I've returned to my MY99 on several occasions to find my car open when I'm sure I locked it. Maybe this can explain it.
I shall keep a sharper watch out and try to witness it happening. Jon. |

Mine locks itself at the moment - MY01 - has been happening since the last service. I don't find it open any more, but have to be a bit careful about leaving the keys in the car.
|
leave the cars in the car !!!
are you asking for it to be stolen ?? Gordo |
I know of a guy who could open his SIGMA alarm with his mobile phone and a blue tooth proggy....very scary

If you unlock the car using the fob and then do not open the door in a set time, 5mins(maybe) it locks itself. |
For those of you with a Sigma alarm there is a answer - Auto lock !
If the car is opened (via fob) and no doors are opened within 1 min, the alarm will relock the doors and rearm itsef. Great if you've got kids who "play" with the keys or a neighbour who opens doors for you ;) . Sit in the car, arm then disarm the alarm via the fob, then within 30 secs start to type the following into your keypad * 17856 * 03 * 0 or * 1 then # (0 is feature off, 1 is feature on) Chris |
i tried this auto re arm but it doesnt work on my m30. any ideas??
|
It works with my01 wrx if i disarm the car with the fob but dont open the door within 1 minute the car will automaticly arm itself again .
|
is the code above correct?? if so i must be doing something wrong??
|
I am unsure about the code mines has done it since I got the car.
Does it not tell you in ur hand book ur the blue cards ? |
IIRC as part of thatcham cat 1 certification a car should arm itself after 1 minute when the key is removed.
|
no mine says in the handbook that its programmable to do it but it does not do it as set now, also makes no mention as how to set it up only that an installer can do it
|
Back in 2mins I will see what my book says .
|
A LONG 2 MINS ;)
|
guys,
The imobiliser will arm after 1 min of the key being taken out of the ignition. It is also true (at least on MY01's) that the doors lock if no doors are opened 1 min after de-activating the alarm. You can also set the alarm to lock the doors when you pull off - you need to be really careful of this though. If you ever get out and close the door with the engine still running its not unheard of for the car to lock and you to run out of petrol by the time you get back in!! I've still got the manual for the sigma alarm in the house somewhere which has all the features & codes - anyone want me to post them up??? |
I have the manual for this alarm but still CANT get it to work as the manual WONT tell you how to set auto re arm ;)
|
Sorry i took so long mate. unfortunatly my book says the same as yours . subaru can only turn this on or off .
|
It can be done without visiting a dealer.
I'm at home at the moment, and my copy of the Sigma's manual (much better than Subaru's) is on my works computer. I may have mistyped the instructions earlier. If anyone wants the full sigma version e mail me as per profile and I'll spend the first hour of my return to work (5 Jan) sending out copies :D Chris |
scooby towers, if you can just explain how to stop the beeping when opening a door when the system is disarmed, yes DISARMED!! taht would be great, i have a comprehensive copy but reluctant to apply the features in case the darn things annoys the neighbours!!
|
Andy (and anyone else) - I've got a copy of the alarm manual with all the codes and how to apply them on my PC. If you want a copy just email me and I'll send you it today.

sorted now fellas :D Thanks to a kind chap called Alan (emailed me programming guide) i managed to sort it,
to turn on auto arm you must enable auto re arm first, you have to punch in *17856 *05 *1# this enables auto re-arm, then you have to punch in *17856 *03 *1# (auto arm) or 17856 *04 *1# (auto arm including door locking)to disable any of the features punch in the code as before but instead of *1# at the end you will punch in *0# ;) |
Isn't that what I posted on page 1 ?
Glad you got it sorted ;) Chris |
