Garage worker's lucky escape

The woman had pulled into the garage to get petrol
A petrol station worker had a narrow escape after a motorist drove her car into the shop.
The man, who has not been named, leapt out of the way just moments before the BMW 3 Series car ploughed into the building near to where he had been sitting.

The car, which was being driven by a woman in her late 20s, is believed to have slid across the forecourt of the garage in Gilfach, near Bargoed.

Although no-one was injured, the driver of the car has been treated in hospital for shock.

Police have said they are treating it as an accident.

Damage

The incident happened at about lunchtime on Saturday.

The woman had pulled into the garage to get petrol but the car failed to stop and crashed into the shop.

Howard Llewellyn, the owner of the garage described the woman as hysterical after the accident which he estimates has caused between £15000 and £20000 worth of damage.

He described how his employee "had a narrow escape, he managed to jump out of the way."

The garage was partially closed following the accident due to damage to the equipment used to operate the petrol pumps

Women drivers huh.

Was there oil on the forecourt?
Did the brakes of the car fail?
Was the driver ill/drunk?
Is her sex relevant?

Far more relevant is the fact it was a BMW 3 series (again) :D

Reminds of a event along similar line that happened not far from where I live, on a site where my dad was working:

A lady, arrives home in her car and goes about putting the car in the garage, her 8yr old son gets out beforehand and stands and watches. Now for some reason she reverses her car into the garage (odd ). As she was doing this, somehow the car went forwards at a great pace hits her son and carries on across the garden, into the road, over the curb, over the garden and into the house opposite

She hit the house with such force that the car was more or less in the living room and there was cracking in the brickwork internally all across the gable section of the house! Her son suffered a broken leg!

How? I never found out, apparently nothing was found wrong with the car (acelarator wasn't stuck etc) - But I don't think she's driven ever since. Which IMO quite rightly too!

Yeah ok.Sorry. In a crap mood today, and just to finish it off I've got to go to the mum-in-laws for dinner.
