Has anyone else found this prob i have been told it could be due to the suspension being to soft? Extreme sports in harlow tell me fitting some rubber block things (coil packers) in between the coils on the spring will stop this? Has anyone done this? Does it damage the car??
any info would be geat |
Happens on my 95 WRX Wagon when heavily loaded or landing after take off. Tyres are not badly scored so when I get the ding some "friend" put in my drivers door a couple of Saturdays ago, sorted then the wheel arch lips can get minor attention with a hammer at the same time.
|
I know i can get the arches rolled at the front to compensate for the bigger wheels and thanks for the advise but apparently the rear arches (the main culprits) they need to be cut and would prefer not to have to do that as would prefer to sacrifice to 16"s again instead of body work to the car.
Its only when i have loads in the car or slam the car hard into a corner that i get this problem Any one got this prob too?? |
gOt 17's on my sport had standard suspension - no problems, now have STI V5 suspension fitted and still no problems.

got 17`s on my car as well and its about 50mm lower at the back and about 70/75mm lower on the front :D
doesnt catch :p you probably have the wrong offset wheels? mine are a 45mm offset, which means there pushed further out then standerd and there still fine!! maybe the tyre size is wrong? |

*** would not advise this at all mate ***** the "rubber block things" will be the same as people use when towing caravans - spring assisters. they stop the spring from moving together to soak up bumps and movement through cornering. (caravan users put them in rear springs to stop back end bouncing caravan off road!!) ive never fitted these to an impreza but did have them on my rs1800 with 17"s to stop bottoming out (wheels catching) gave such a hard ride i ended up selling the car as way to uncomfortable to drive. expensive but best way is prob coilovers and seeing a reptuable company for rolling - rtec are very good. |
