Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much T.S.L would charge to fit a set of Defi gauges, i know i should ask them but i need an idea before tommorrow and they are now closed of course. Or if anyone could just let me know how long it takes a professinal who knows their way around an Impreza to fit a set of DEfis and control unit.

Cheers James.

Don't quote me

I think when I asked Paul a while back he said it will take 3 ish hours at £45 per hour + VAT

Nathan..

DaveBlueRA 20 December 2003 08:54 PM

I had 3 autometer gauges fitted (oil temp, pressure and afr) and a hks turbo timer fitted. Took 7 hours and came to £383

alcazar 20 December 2003 10:02 PM

Not sure if TSL actually do Defis?

Seriously, it's NOT that hard. It may take you a full day, but you can do it. Give it a try.

Alcazar

Thanks for the replies guys, If i get the defis i was going to take them with me to be fitted by T.S.L, or if i didn't i was going to get T.S.L to supply and fit their own gauges (but obviously i would love the defis).

Anyone know what scoobymania charge to supply and fit a set of Defi gauges.

Alcazer i was thinking of having a go myself to save a few quid, i am fairly good a d.i.y work with cars etc but am worried about f*****G it up and then having to go to someone to get it sorted half way through the job.

James.

p.s anyone know what the smiths gauges look like in the dark, is the illumination the same as the dash?

WRX_Rich 20 December 2003 11:52 PM

just got 3 defi 60 m gauges from scooby mania cost £380 with the control unit - I didn't buy the pod as I wanted the defi one

Im sure they said £100 to fit but I can't remember, but I would think they will be cheaper than TSL as they do so many of them :)

chrome 21 December 2003 11:17 AM

WRX-Rich- thats a really good price mate..
for 60mm too! ;)

Mike Tuckwood 21 December 2003 11:47 AM

Hi James.

I replied to the direct mail you sent me, but if you see this here first, we charge 3 hours (@ £30.00 per hour) to fit Gauges + vat. Sometimes takes slightly longer but we only charge 3 hours anyway.

Mike.
Scooby Mania

Chungster 21 December 2003 12:20 PM

What's the difference between the wavey "sydney opera house" type 3 guage pod that Scoobymania sell then compared with the Defi one??

Thought they would be the same!

Those prices from SM are very good. Think I'll be paying a visit to them in the New Year I reckon. :)

Mike Tuckwood 21 December 2003 02:57 PM

The genuine Defi one (which we've usually got in for the new Age cars) has the gauges set back into the pod a lot further making the 'peak' of the hood much more prominent.

Mike.

Chungster 21 December 2003 03:09 PM

Thanks Mike.

I'll have one of those then! :)

scoobyfella 21 December 2003 03:25 PM

WRX Rich,

That was a good price mate, did you get a discount? when i add up the prices they are £430 inc v.a.t on their website.

James.

WRX_Rich 21 December 2003 04:56 PM

Im not sure, the bill came to £385.81, this was an all in deal (pod, 3 gauges and control link box) but sadly they didn't have the defi pod, but he still did it for the same price. Think it was £85ish extra for the scooby mania pod

I went down for the TSL show, so popped in on the way home
well worth the trip ;) top blokes, but I remembr when I phoned them up the price was the same as net, so may be I was just lucky

scoobyfella 21 December 2003 06:55 PM

WRX Rich,

Hi mate did you fit them yourself in the end then? i can't decide whether to have a go or not.

James.

DaveBlueRA 21 December 2003 07:49 PM

DaveBlueRa,

£383 To fit some guages..........Fookin ell.

WRX_Rich 21 December 2003 10:54 PM

Tone Loc 22 December 2003 07:50 AM

Hi James

From our experience, These are normally fitted in between 3.5- 4 hours. An excellent kit.

hope this helps :)

Cheers

Paul

ScoobyK 22 December 2003 05:30 PM

Sometimes in life, you get what you pay for ;)

Tone Loc 22 December 2003 05:56 PM

You certainly do.... which is why i'll stick to Prosport's £39.50/hr ;) :D .

Tony.
