ADVANCE WARNING OF SEVERE WEATHER

Here is an ADVANCED WARNING of Heavy Snow affecting Northern Scotland, Eastern Scotland, South West Scotland, Northern Ireland, North West England, North East England, The Midlands, Wales, South East England and East Anglia AND Lincolnshire.
Issued by the Met Office at 10:30 on Friday, 19 December 2003.
This warning is an update to that issued at 11:02 on Thursday, 18 December

The Met Office is expecting a low pressure system to move east across northern England tomorrow with rain turning to snow over the Southern Uplands, the Grampians and perhaps the northern Pennines.
Note that there has been a change in the timing and track of this low relative to yesterdays ideas.
Once the low moves away, winds will turn to the north or north-east, as mentioned before, with frequent showers turning wintry and locally heavy. These may affect northern Irish Sea coastal areas on Sunday, but in particular, they will transfer to northern and eastern counties of Scotland and England. Several cm of snow is possible locally with some drifting in gale-force winds, which could lead to disruption of transport. There is still some doubt about exact details relating to the severity of the weather and this is reflected in the relatively low risk assessments given above for most of the regions.
For inquires regarding this warning - please contact your regional Met Office.
Transmitted by the Met Office. at 10:30 on Friday 19 December

So it will be Scoobies to Tesco's after they close...

Well just checked the BBC and Sky weather sites and just says a bit of rain on Saturday and sunny Sunday for SE England.

Absolutely no point taking any notice of any of them really, just wait and see what turns up.

Would like some snow though cos im off work all next week with my son and toboganning is great :D

The first person with Toyo's, F1's, SO-3's etc on their car to complain his car has great traction but no grip when braking on snow gets shot.........

That's a promise!!!

ABS fuse my arse.

All the weather sites have weather warnings on them (if you look closely enough  ) for Sunday and Monday and all predict the same... snow and south easterly gales for most easterly areas :)
