On the way home last night, I looked at every car with it's front fogs on and the worst offender was the BMW's (no surprise there then ;)). Close behind was the Peugeot 206's, Renault Clio's and then the Fiat Punto's. All max-powered up, obviously!
|
HAd mine on lastnight - but then it was foggy!
|
It p1ssses me off when the stupid old feckers (mainly women) leave their rear fog light permanantly on and then look at you all strange when you kindly flash to remind them of their foolish behaviour.
Why don't all vehicles have a switch that turns off automatically with the ignition, like a rear heated window does? |
French and Italian hatches and BMWs, no fog off switch round here.
Puffer Daddy types have a specific penchant for BMWs with fogs + side lights only (ie no headlights!). Presumably it looks "cool" or something. |
Yeah- what is that all about with fogs and not much headlight??
Obviously some BHP gain.... Pugs are worst offenders in my area- 206 & 306. |
Saxo's. Every one (alright not EVERY one but most) are driven with foglights on.
BMWs. Puntos. Clios. Kill them all i say. |
Old classic Impreza 4 up, all young lads, wearing baseball caps, fogs on, driving like a joyrider.
|
All I ever see is renault Scenics with them on.
|
Goto be the Veccy's and the Focus's they always leave em on.
|
BMWs, IMHO.
|
Anything French
and Old shape (E36)3series Beamers Anyone notice how tiny the front fogs are on the latest 3-series BMW's? I think BMW addressed the issue with its drivers using them as a fashion statment rather than for any physical purpose :D edit: now how on earth did that apostrophe get there? [Edited by ALi-B - 12/19/2003 10:14:04 AM] |
bmws pug 306 and saxos
also fire engines ambulances police cars in a hurry why o why do they get away with it they have big fook off blue lights they dont need to blind us with foglights too:( |
Austin Maxi 1750 HL with old boy on board.
|

|
X5s, X5s and, oh yes nearly forgot X5s.
I think it is because they have the dark tinted windows and can't see were they are g o i n g :D |
Rally Drivers!
|
When I have stopped drivers to "remind" them to switch their front fog lights off, the usual reply is "sorry I forgot". I always say to them "Funny how you remembered to switch the back one's off then"!!
|
sorry I forgot tiggers. |
on a bmw the fog light switch works front and rears....the dial turns the fronts on first...if you keep turning the backs come on but the dial springs back to fronts. In otherwords if you turn on all fogs then stop and restart the electrics the fronts will still be on but the rears wont.
on the 2 or 3 times i have had to run fogs i have realised the following day (usually when i see the car reflected in another car) that my fronts are still on. this explains 3% of BMW fog light cases (the rest are tools) its a stupid design, it should spring to off so you have to manualy turn on all fogs when you start the car up. T |
STi8 drivers rarely offend with this !
|
On a BMW, the switch isn't labelled "Fog". It's labelled "Look at me!"
Doug |
Front fog lights i can cope with, it's rear ones that should be banned, my PET HATE!!!!!!!
|
I think the fog light switch must be in the boot on 306's, or perhaps there's no switch at all... they all seem to be going around with their front fogs on.
|
I think thw worst offenders are people who drive cars of varying age and design.
|
i tried mine once and thought they were so crap, that i bought sum covers and hid them away
i keep meaning to remove them compleatly but cant be botherd lol |

I am the 'fog light terrorist' number 1.
Just call me Cinzano. Anytime, anyplace, anywhere..... I have to replace my bulbs every 3 months, because I burn them out! Edited to say MY01 WRX BUGEYE SLUG..... [Edited by yoza - 12/19/2003 6:59:38 PM] |
One of my top pet hates fog lights. Personally I ban them all - seeing as so few people actually use them when it is truely necessary and then even fewer use them properly (incidently, the correct way is to turn off your dip beam - the whole point is that the fogs are set lower to stop the light reflecting into your eyes, which is what can happen in very foggy conditions using dip beam - there is no bleeding point in having your dip beam and fog lamp on together!!!).
Chris |
must admit i didnt know that was the way to use them
but then again i dont use them to start with :p |
People carriers and French anything. Full stop.
