noticed recently that there is quite a few of these up for sale, the normally rare beast are here in quantity, whats wrong are these about to take a tumble in price and everyone is trying to offload them before they loose. as they all seem to be about the £15k and dont know about you but i think the price of these are a little over the top for there age,you can get a 2nd hand honda nsx for that price now and i know which i would rather have

cjaffray 18 December 2003 08:22 PM

Whatever

For little money you can turn them into a 300bhp+ wallet hoovering flying machine. As long as its been maintained properly it'll deliver some great grins per mile :D

Someones missed the boat pmsl

Luke 18 December 2003 09:35 PM

That 15k NSX is noyt going to in that good condition and will cost a lot just in tyres...... But take the budget up to £2ok and things get loooooovely!! (still cost a fortune for tyres!!)

astraboy 18 December 2003 11:10 PM

I'd prefer a straight Cosworth to an NSX anyday.
Its a question of taste over economics.
astraboy.

Pie_n_Chips 19 December 2003 09:02 AM

LOL or lack of taste

Mmmmmm one time rally slag with questionable reliability or a supercar with civic running costs, difficult one that.

DAC 19 December 2003 09:10 AM

I am a cosworth fan (had 4 - safs & 3drs)

but don't know how anyone can justify £15k for a 10 year old escort (with a reputation for unreliability and high maintenance)

yes they look the nuts (but its a plastic bodykit), old technology, and the image of RS cars is going down (just read passion ford and see all the 'my cars faster than yours' etc.)

can get alot of quick and comfier/more reliable cars for £15k now.

47 NAT 19 December 2003 10:06 AM

Si, you on about me at a guess ...I can only blame it on the alcahol abuse last night :D

stevebt 19 December 2003 01:07 PM

nor he's taking the pi55 out of me as he love's the cossy

Designated Driver 19 December 2003 02:22 PM

I didn't pay 15K for my cossie in september and I wouldn't either cos they can be built for a lot less anyway. They are a lot of fun and I don't think they've lost their reputation yet.

super_si 19 December 2003 04:02 PM

:D

Freak 19 December 2003 05:05 PM

Would rather spend 15k on a cosworth than some overpriced unreliable jap-crap-despite the jap crap being much newer....(ooh gonna get flamed for that one..:p)

Wild Mark 19 December 2003 09:17 PM

freak, Is that right, you would rather spend £15k on a ten year old Ford with a body kit rather than 'jap crap'? what are you on, cos I want to buy some!
Prat!

Cosworth427 19 December 2003 09:28 PM

LOL

It's ok this happens everywhere in the world.

Ferrari fanatics hate the NSX. American muscle gear heads LOATH the NSX, and it looks like the Essex boys can't see the beauty in this "jap-crap".

Their loss, not the NSX driver's.

apples24 20 December 2003 03:50 PM

depreciation values say it all really

anyone remember the last threads?
aparantly escort cossie were doomed cause the focus rs turbo was released, have they dropped in value? have they fook.

market trend and the history of cosworth keeps em goin.
i dont dispute atall older technology etc

how much would your scoobys be worth when there 15 yrs old then?

my prediction is the prices are gonna stay the same for the next few years then gradually go up :D

yes there expensive to run etc but not as much as most of the japs, my opinion all the japs is the cause of the success of the cossie.

buy a good one for 14k sell it 2 yrs later for the same money.. what more could you want?
not sure on the focus rs prices though, i wreckn there gonna take a nose dive in couple yrs then stabalise
