Is there a diferance of which type of fuel i use i.e super unleaded or normal unleaded im getting flat spots when booting her.........

Optimax and Super are the way togo.

If you use normal you will not be getting the best out of the engine and the extra cost you pay per litre on Opti and Super will be returned in better mpg as the engine will run more efficiently on the higher octane fuel than on normal.

Also you could be more prone to detting the engine on normal unleaded.

Whats a lamda sensor

If you look in your engine bay at the back of the engine is the turbo heat shield anand the down pipe connected.

If you look just to the right of the heat shield there will be the gearbox dipstick and a conduit with some small wires going to the loom / ecu.

Thes wires are connected to the Lambdo probe that is threaded into the downpipe. It reads the emsisions coming from the engine/ehaust and tells the ecu whats going on with your fueling etc.

If this is faulty or just plane knacked then it will be giving out incorrect readings and could be causing your flatspots and hesitation etc.

This is another one of the "consumables" fitted to our engines. There is an aftermarket replacement available that can be made to fit. The dealer one is more expensive.

They are supposed to last up to approx 50k miles.
