Hi,
Can anyone help me with the wiring of this piggy back board. The guy that I got it from told me that it was part of a PPP which he had fitted to his 02 WRX. It was then later removed by Power Engineering when they did a Ecutek remap. On the board it says Gems Ltd. Subaru 44 PCB. Any help with this would be much appriciated.

The early PPP upgrades on the bugeye consisted of a piggyback style upgrade. Not sure other than boost what it tweaks.

Cheers Pavlo,
What I really need to know is what points in the ECU the wires go to. There are 5 seperate wires and a small harness which has 3 wires in which is terminated with a small plug. I would guess that there is already a point in the ECU where the loom part plugs into but I need to know where the other 5 wires go. Unfortunately the guy who I got it off of didn't get power engineering to make a note of the wiring points.
Cheers

I would guess some are power, there will be 2 in and out for map sensor, maybe another sensor too, but I'm really just guessing.

Best bet is find someone with a PPP on a 44 series ECU

Scooby,

I might be able to help you.

Just a quick question back to Pavlo though, are there different PPP piggyback boards for WRXs during MY01 and 02? You said early bugeyes used this mod, did they change for later models? If so would the wiring points be different or essentially all the same (power, ground, signal in, output etc.)?

You see, I happen to have in my possesion instructions for fitting the PPP board into a bugeye ECU. The board I've got fitted has a different Subaru part number to this (but looks essentially the same-it's in an MY02 WRX) so I don't know if my instructions are any good to you.

If anyone (Pavlo?) can shed some light on this I'll be happy to send them if they'll work for you.

Cheers,

Stewart.

later ones use ecutek i believe

SKS 18 December 2003 06:16 PM

OK, if that's the case then I've got wiring instructions for the piggyback board then!!!

Scoob, post us yer email address and I'll send you a file with instructions and pretty pictures.

Stewart.

can I have them too?

David

Sure can David. Give me your email address and I'll be happy to send them.

Stewart.

Use it only in the AF530 and AF531 ECU, thatīs what itīs designed for! The newer ECU has totally different mapping, which COULD give some problems.

You also need a different restictor in combination with this board. (1.1 mm?)

Mark.
