Luke,

Just use the thing is the best way to learn. Come back in two years time and I bet you will still not know everything there is to know.

Better still, watch the videos on disk two in the package and also have a flick through the printed manual that came with it. ;)

Cheers

Just get to grips with the whole layer thing first, they are your best friends. Practice with the lasoo tools and the effects menu for a bit of fun then once you're a bit more confident you can start fecking around with brush types, pressure, gradients ..... blah blah blah.. Pretty straight forward when you get into it.

80% of Photoshop users use just 10% of it's features. Or so they say...

of course those 80% are the Mac owners.. (only joking):p;)

2 years.... your having a laugh.... will still be learning in 10.

flat4 09 December 2003 10:48 PM

been using it since 2.5  and it's CS not 8 ;)

Thought you would have known exactly every detail of it Luke. What with you seemingly having an answer for everything. :p

However, one of the best things you can try is to go to a newsagents and pick up creative arts magazine, or one of the others with Photoshop CS tutorials in. Most of these carry video tutorials which are pretty good, and the other tutorials in the mags are usually detailed.

Not about photoshop...thats for sure!!

angrynorth 10 December 2003 10:35 AM

I work with virtually only Photoshop all day and have done for 7 years, so if theres owt you need to know...

Here's a link to a website with some very, very good tutorials, most of them are based around upping the quality of old images but the theory and the teaching of the tools is top notch.
