Is their a significant difference between an Ecutek ecu over a Prodrive ecu ( power wise ). Have ppp at moment on MY03 and I want to know if its worthwhile going for an Ecutek or should I tune some other way.?

Ecutek should be able to get you more power, after-all, they don't have a warranty to be concerned about!!!

Prodrive use Ecutek hardware & their own map I believe.
I think the Prodrive map is a bit more conservative to comply with the IM warranty.
You can get a custom Ecutek map which is every bit as safe with a fair bit more power. Dunno if it is cost effective considering you already have the PPP though. Maybe a decat/sports cat downpipe would be better?

Are maps locked to the person / company who did the original work so that you are tied in with a supplier?

If it's true that one mapper can't get into the maps of another then is it possible to have a TEK2 done at say, PE then have it tweaked at a later date at Scoobysport etc (after you might have used up your free remap or is it a starting again /deleting / overwriting job to clear out the existing map?

I was only asking as if somebody went for PPP, could they have it remapped later (not by Prodrive) or is it better to keep off the PPP and go straight to ECUTek (PPP for length of warranty then ECUTek when out of warranty). I admit it's not the most cost effective way of doing it ;)
