good point.. try using a stottie cake as a base :p

I make the best ones according to the wife!

Make the dough in the bread machine (takes 90 mins) then roll it out, then let it rise for another 15 mins, then put on the homemade spicy tomato sauce, olives, blue cheese, then sprinkle on the mozarella.

Bake for 15-20 mins, and get a lovely fresh thin & crispy tasty pizza.

200 times better than a frozen one and most restaurant ones.....the fresh dough makes ALL the difference.

For the dough, I do :

225g of good quality strong white bread flour
150ml of tepid water
3g of yeast (maybe a bit less, can't remember)
teaspoon of salt
teaspoon of sugar
tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

That makes 2 x 12"/14" pizza bases (depending on how thin you like them)

Cost of above? About 15p-20p.

Thanks Imlach. So far i've bought the bases, never really thought about making them.

For topping its usually a mixture of tuna, cheese, onions and peppers.

Making the dough fresh MAKES the pizza. Making dough (even without a breadmaker is relatively easy, but just takes a bit of forward planning).

Take your troubles out on the dough as you knead it. Quite theraputic. Breadmakers can be had for £30 now though from Argos, and worth it.

Try sprinkling some creamy blue cheese on next time instead of the onions. It adds a great flavour.

Go along with Imlach :)

You can put almost anything you want on, but my current fave is tomato sauce, mozarella, bit of gorgonzola, ham, and when cooked top it of with some rocket, parmesan and oil.

Bought pizzas just aren't the same IHMO

Go to Italy & buy a pizza over there. They're far better than our 'americanised' ones:)
