Is it possible to buy an external hard drive, for my laptop.

I'm looking for something that can quickly "plug and play" and can be removed to another machine to save me carrying th elaptop at times when this is not practical...

What are rough costs/suppliers of these products and what kinda memory can be got?

Laptop currently has measly 20Gb....

Iomega do external firewire/usb hard drives. I think they go as big as 120gb. They are round the hundred quid mark.

Just beware that they are nowhere as quick as internal HDD's.

get a USB 2.0 hard disk enclosure. if you get the 2.5inch hard disk, it will be powered via the USB. have a look at www.pcnextday.co.uk :)
