I missed the Aldi offer and want to buy the best spec PC I can get for £1k, including 17" TFT. I mainly want to use it for internet, music, photos, messenger, Office.

Have tried Dell outlet, but found it very confusing. There's also no way I could build my own.

Anyone got any recommendations on offers they've seen, or any decent websites to try?

Thanks

OK well on the Dell site (not outlet) I have just configured a system for £1150 odd with all the bits you wanted and to get it down to the magic £1k you could either reduce the processor or hard drive depending on your preferences.

Was on this page based on 3ghz cpu, 512 ram etc and always reduce the warranty to 1 year collect and return from 3 years on site to drop the price http://commerce.euro.dell.com/dellst...ukdhsdimen&v=d

If it was my 1k its what I would buy.

Sorry, I realise it's not too helpful as I can't make recommendations as a moderator, but I know of several small companies that would do you a custom built machine, complete with nothing but name brand components, a floppy, and a 120gb hdd for less.

The Dell seems a little dear to me, especially with such a small drive, and only onboard sound and graphics.

Thanks for the replies.

Tried the Dell link, but didn't seem to be as good value as the Aldi for what you get.

I didn't think there would be a chance of any Aldi's still having stock - will check.

If anyone else has any other ideas, please stick them up!

Cheers

My m8 just got one from Mesh. Good price and product etc. And they delivered exactly when they said. ¬No idea if this is the norm though.
