Ive tried this one on the general forum but with no luck.I am getting my cam belt done soon and wondered if I should get an up rated roger clark oil pump fitted at the same time due to storys of oil pumps sticking? and causing big end damage.whats your opinion on this? ive heard storys of the oe pump being good and bad and dont know whats the truth. Can Any of the engine re build lads out help me?

cheers Roy

I'm assuming you've got a few miles on the clock to be changing the timing belt.

I would recommend changing the oil pump, and obviously the front crank seal (both available from roger clark), at that time due to the fact that the OE pump relief valve can have problems sticking as you say, and the R.C. one has been modified.

I've blown two engines this year, and decided to put the modified Roger Clark pump in when I rebuilt the second engine. Along with a few other mods ;)

I think you can change the pump with the engine in, I can't actually remember looking, as it was completely rebuilt on the bench (well o.k. the floor). Just remember to prime the pump well.

Well worth putting a modded RC Oil pump in; call Simon on 01455 828610 that will be one less thing to worry about!!!
