Anyone had this experience? Came out of London short on gas and pulled into the BP garage on the Talgarth Rd.

When I went to lock the car before paying the "clicker" wouldnt work. Battery was OK.

Called Subaru Assistance who were very helpful. It transpires that some petrol stations have an electronic blocker which stop customers using their mobile phones when filing up. Bloody nanny state! This can block the signal of the clicker.

If this happens you are immobilised! In my case 2 hours. He towed me 200 yds down the road and everything worked perfectly.

Surprised no one saw me

Had the same problem, was due to Mobile Phones mast's, and petrol stations due tend to have them in the sign displaying there name.

Speak to Subaru as they fitted a Shielded ECU unit to the car undr warrenty and this sorted the problem for me, dont park on top of a multistory carpark or nay where near a fire station!!

Haxzer. Don,t think it matters at a Fire station mate! I work at one, park directly under the transmitter and it has nil effect. They are only VHF duplex transmitters though!

Yep happened to me, mobile phone transmitter!!

Thank god I parked on a hill, got in and let the car roll down the hill, with alarm making a racket!! car locked and unlocked no problem once out of sight of transmitter.

Bloody happened again today. This time outside a company with lazer machinery - maybe close to a transmitter too.

Fortunately just pushed it back 5 yds and all OK.

just wondering if I should change the clicker battery anyway

Do your motors not have a keypad in the glove box to disarm manually?
