Stef recently posted a chusty little thread:http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/Forum10/HTML/000135.html

I own a 98 WRX and am now looking to up the anty with the suspension. Gutted to hear that Eibach do not condone the use of their spring on a WRS as they have not tested it. Has anybody got them on their car?
Or has anyone got a suitable recommendation?
30 MM is it to much?

Thanks, a Gibbered SJD

Scott,

My experiance of lowered springs on cars draws me to the following

Lowered gives better dry handling. But when you reach the limit.....boy does the baby let go. And in the wet your find your car not as nice to drive.

This depends on the amount lowered and stiffened though. Not to mention the added tramlining, bumps etc.

Sorry if you know all this. Just thought I'd tell you anyway.

Having driven UK Impreza's against my STI, I'd say the UK ones are slightly more enjoyable in the wet on roads. Less so on the track.

But I'm no expert!!!

Read my thread: Oh my god! Help!! before you lower your car. The last 24 hours have been a nightmare and I would not wish it on anybody else if it can be avoided. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Scott,

I have Eibach 30mm lowered and uprated springs on my `94 WRX. Didn't appear to make a huge difference on their own. However, since fitting MRT front and rear (adjustible) anti-roll bars and anti-lift kit, the handling has been transformed. I'm not sure just how much the springs offer apart from the lower centre of gravity (must be of some benefit). However, an instructor (passenger on that occaision) at Cadwell was very impressed with the car's handling and I have not yet had the geometry set up.

Scott.

I would think that as the dampers in the WRX and UK cars are different (aren't they?) there may be a difference in how changing just the springs will affect the car.
Eibach have to play it safe I guess.

Stef.
