Right, second gripe of the morning.

I made the mistake of using the online version of John Lewis, which resulted in damaged goods being delivered, couldn't swap them at a local store, and Parcel Farce being the transport medium All in all, will never use them again!

Anyhow, when you register there is a clicky you have to select to stop from receiving promotional stuff. Well, I've been receiving their monthly (ish) email, and after the experience above wanted to remove myself from the mailing list.

So I tried:

- clicking the check box and save the preferences
- clicking on the unsubscribe part of the email and following the instructions word for word, about 5-6 times now, over the last 5 months.

Guess what, I'm still receiving the bloody email [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
So, will ring their customer services and try and sorted, but I reckon my chances are zero....

Guess what... called one number - given another...
called that number, given the original bloody number...

Spoke to somebody finally that knew what to do!
Whether they do it will be another story.. muppets!

Give it a couple of weeks and if you are then still getting stuff then phone back quoting the data protection act. Persevere if it annoys you enough. The law is on your side on this one.

You could even ask for ALL data they have on you (may cost £10) but it'll cost them more in resources.

They've annoyed me enough due the saga of the dinning room table (I'll save you all the details, again).

Oh yeah ignore the fact I told ou about the Data Protection Act last night when you were going on about this! :rolleyes:

I'd second phoning and asking to speak to the data protection officer.

I had to do this with on eof the Sunday newspapers that somehow got hold of my email addy and would not stop sending me spam, no matter how many emails I sent them with UNSUBSCRIBE as the header !

After one call telling them that if I received another email from them I would report them to the data protection registrar they became very apologetic and deleted my name from the mailing list.

I'd suggest waiting until you are very pissed off at something (work, the kids, traffic, whatever) and then let of some steam by giving them a phone call and ripping shreds of some poor sod :D :D
