Have seen loads of mention on here about getting an 'underbody service' (nudge nudge, wink wink ;) ) from Subaru dealerships.

Can anyone tell me what is involved and is it worth it? (I've got an MY02 which has done ~30,000 miles)

cheers guys

They spray a black sticky like film of protective sealant under the car and around the wheel arches to protect it from the harsh British winter.
Is it value for money, No.
Is it worth it, probably yes, just for peace of mind.
Would I do it every year, No.
Hope that helps

Did mine every other year to collect the stamps in the service history book. MY00 have been known to corrode, so did this to cover myself should the worse happen!

In my case it was £100 for a stamp in the book, actual quality of the job will vary from dealer to dealer, mine was awful. Suppose this is a bit like servicing in general, you know you can get it done better at an independant.

thanks for all the replies lads.

On balance I don't think I will bother (at least from a Subaru dealership).

I had imagined it would include some sort of chassis-part renewal work or something (dream on eh ? :( )
