Recently sold my MY01 as I know get a company car. Loved the WRX but now have a choice for a new company car (must be made, the Omega is s-h-1-t, class A). The choices are:

1)Audi A3 FSI Sport (150 BHP, £187)
2)Skoda Octavis vRS (180 BHP, £213)
3)Honda Civic Type R (197 BHP, £260)
4)Toyota Celica Premium and Style (150 BHP, £234)
5)Honda Accord Type S (187 BHP, £287)
6)Saab 93 Vector 2.0t (180 BHP, £273)
7)Volkswagen Golf 4motion (204 BHP, £385)
8)Volkswagen Golf R32 (240 BHP, £426) or...
9)Subaru Impreza WRX (222BHP, £311)

Now, for those of you wondering the £ value is my tax bill if I choose it per month.

I pretty much know what to expect with the WRX, for the others I have read stuff but would appreciate some opinions.

Please bear in mind my petrol is company paid (no opt out) so max fuel consumption is a bonus. No cash alternative (so no Sti)

What would you do?

To choose something other than the Scooby I'd have to go for the Honda Civic Type R! The Golfs are initially tempting, but they're too lardy and only the TDi's have got enough torque to make them worth while - Besides, its a Golf! ;)

Surely the best way to own one, all the peeps on here are worried about parking and getting jacked or the panels but if its your company car you can rest easy.

Rest of the cars don't compare and some of the prices are shocking!

IF it had to be something else I'd be looking at the RX8 just to be different or a Lotus Elise if that's possible. I think the Elise works out relatively cheap too.

Type-R - 200BHP thru the front wheels, nice :(

tax on impreza = about £300 a month cause of emissions and price, tax on a civic type r is £153 pound a month....

I went out and bought a scooby and took the type r as a company motor, apart from the fact that it's having a rebuild due to the fly wheel detaching itself and going through the clutch !!

at least u can get the impreza and screw it all day long without worrying about the fuel bills.
If yer doin mainly motorway miles then the golf r32 sounds a nice comfy option...ish, expensive though.

I'm facing a similar decision at the moment - swapping my company Accord Type-R for something else (costs me £392 a month in tax!). My list has:

Accord CDTi £184 (sensible choice!)
Mini Cooper S £273
Civic Type-R £293
Subaru Impreza WRX £332
Mazda RX-8 £425

Again tax per month shown - Not sure about bits'n'pieces Civic tax figures - it's emissions aren't too good (212) and the new WRX is only slightly higher (219).

WRX looks the favourite at the moment ;), although still need to drive a Leon Cupra R - would steer away from R32 etc - just too expensive :(
