my 93wrx has developed a high pitched buzz
this only occures after i have give her the first boot after warming (ofcourse)
and then it becomes constant going up and down in pitch with the revs
any idea's ?

loose heatshield ?

Had something similar once on a Golf GTI - like a cross between a buzz and a whine varying in pitch with the engine revs.

Turned out to be the timing belt tensioner that had come loose and worked it's way into a position that was putting too much tension on the timing belt.

Don't know if this is anything like your prob, but worth a try!
