how much of a sound improvement will i get just changing the backbox from the ppp one to the firestorm , leaving the center boxes as std, also will i get boost spike probs or a drop in mid range torque, which has been said on here in the past might happen, thanks in advance

Just put a firestorm on my 03 wrx. The sound is excellent and have noticed a definate increase in response and pull.
Do it, you know it makes sense.

Trev, you got any pics of that mate?

rav4640 23 November 2003 11:38 PM

i saw a post a while back with an sti8 ppp and firestorm and that got probs with a drop in top end and a loss of mid range torque i was wondering if this was a one off or its a prob on the sti,s, i would like a bit more of the scooby sound without messing around with remaps etc

Rav.. if you are just changing the back box. There is no need for the remap.

I have not seen the post where the car allegedly lost top end and power. This physically cannot happen from the fitment of this back box.

All Firestorms are made in the same factory .. by the same people as the Prodrive units... with less back pressure and less restriction.

Hope this helps

Kind regards

For those of us petrified of nullifying their warranty, can I fit the firestorm box to my 03STi without making the warranty void? Is it a straight swap for the factory box or do mods need to be made to back bumper and/or mounting hangers?

TREV 24 November 2003 12:49 PM

Its a straight swop. and a straight swop back for service and warranty work.

Trev,
If you think I'm crawling around in the sh*t again, just to change your zorst for a warrenty claim, you've another thing coming :D
