Hi all... advice pls, after much debate am about to go and buy my gauges from Reel Steel in Uxbridge.
Oiltemp/press/boost/volts/AFM. Have sourced the required fitting parts from Scoobymania for the oil temp and press. These seem very good quality and are american made, are very reasonable at a cost of £254 for the 5 gauges including senders. Anyone fitted these or had any experience with them?? It's called the Phantom range. Thanks all. |
dam good gauges m8 got them myself :D

nice1 SI.. any fitting tips??

Hi m8, ive got them to and as Si has said, very good gauges.
Ive got oil press/temp, AFR and an Apexi boost gauge. As you probebly already know theres 2 places you can fit the sender for the oil temp. Either in the sump plug or remove the hex drive plug above no.3 cylinder under the intercooler on the drivers side, i got the addapter for this from Lamans motorsport. I fitted the oil press sender where the stock press switch was and got a braided pipe made up to go from there to the location away from vibration near the boost solenoid, o/s strut area. The gauge sender for this is pysicly to big to go under the alternator anyway. I did start with a short 10cm pipe (cost me 17quid:eek:) but found the sender unit to be sort of jammed in between the throtle cable bracket and alternator, not good i thought for long term reliabilty! The AFR signal wire's a doddle, mine was pin 136, blue connector on the ECU, white whith silver dots, sugest you solder this as it will be very sensitive to bad conections and resistance giving a false reading. Hope this has helped abit, if you need to know anything else, ask away;) Gary. |
Cheers pal. gonna pick them up tommorow and will get cracking on them durin the week. may ask u 4 more advice if i get stuck. Is it possible to mail order the bits from lamans?
