Anyone got an opinion on the Subaru Official Single Boost Gauge?
Part No. H5010FE000
£ 139.95 (including VAT)
Is it a DIY fit to a 2003 STI. (I know I could ask my dealer, but they are useless).

Have not got the single boost gauge but have the 3 gauge pod with STi/lamco gauges, MY99 Sti Type R, fitted and they are qaulity.
Since the local dealers won't touch my import anymore, got them supplied and fitted at Revolution:D

I have a STI8 and purchased an autometer gauge and dash a pillar pod from scoobymania and scoobyclinic fitted it for me. All in it cost me £160 and looks loads better than that subaru effect. I`ll take a pic and post it on here.

I had this gauge fitted by Monks Heath Motors to my MY01 for about £150. Seems a bit dear but (a) "fitted", so perfect for non hands-on types, and (b) IMO the best position if you only want a single gauge.

Has worked fine, just buzzes a bit at high revs, but I suspect they all do that. Couldn't hear it once the decat was installed :)

Hope this helps,
Gareth

I had one that I fitted myself and it was straightforward but fiddly - you have to drop the steering column a bit to get the shroud off. In use I found that it was a bit on the small side and the night time illumination was awful. Mine had a white face and the lighting was very garish making it impossible to read. The black faced one might be better in that respect though. I have a Defi one now :)

Thanks. I was thinking of black.

I like a DIY challenge as long as it's reversible and unlikely to break anything.

Is it all plug in electrical connections or do you have to run a pipe to the engine like aftermarket gauges.
I assume you have to drill the shroud.

Its mechanical so there's a pipe to go through the bulkhead and into a T connector near the IC. The power is taken from behind the stereo I think.

Mine was black and okay but agree on the quality of the illumination.
