hi,
can someone tell me what are the better plug please?
recently bought some NGK LASER PLATINUM PFR6B for my next service, only performance mods are full decat and panel filter, but i'm thinking about fitting a dawes, will i need to use different plugs or will these be fine?

cheers

o.k - in the absence of any replies I will give you my 2 pennies worth. On my prev scoob MY93 WRX I was running complete HKS Decat system, ITG panel, Revised airbox pipework, MBC etc and originally fitted NGK PFR7B's wihtout any problems. Next plug change and I fitted Denso Iridium's and the car did feel a little better.....very hard to put a finger on it but it felt slightly more eager - this may have been down to the fact that they were new plugs dunno but I can honestly recommend either of these.

I'd second that about the PFR7B plugs, i wouldn't bother with the 6's TBH mate. To save time and hassle fit the 7's.... IMo 6's are ok for std cars and cars with decat-only.

Never used 'em but the Denso iridiums have a VERY thin centre electrode, which means they need less voltage to give a spark.

As resistance across the spark plug electrodes increases as cylinder pressure increases, the iridiums should give a more reliable spark under load etc etc ... in theory :)

I have blown an iridium plug before. On a std JDM STI running standard boost. Drove the short distance to my workshop on 3 cyl.

Needless to say, since then I have only used NGK PFR's. Use 7 if std, use 8 if lightly tuned. IMHO.

what makes the prf7's better than the 6's?
my cars not in for a service until feb, but i might fit the dawes before that, will the car be ok with the 6's in or is this a bad idea?
