Hi Guyz!

Having very recently acquired a 99 model Scooby....you will appreciate that this is all very new to me!.....However, having done some ground work I came across BR Developments...who do upgrades for all vintages & models of the Turbo!....Seem like genuine guyz who know what their all about...hoping to book me car in shortly!
Has anybody had work carried by these guyz & if so....are there any significant power/performance increases?

Kind Regards...

Oh yes indeed. They are fantastic, as I'm sure others will agree - Rannoch?, Firefox?, You need to speak with Bob Rawle.

I strongly (very) recommend a Possum ECU, 3port boost solenoid for starters and you'll notice the immense torque hike.

Bob cuts through the Bull and gives good, honest advice and his results speak for themselves.

sudass,
where did you come across br as i'm looking for some mods and haven't come across them yet.
slightly off subject, what stocks are you into at the moment, are you trader or investor.

Bob Rawle has mapped the Link on my car and many others - he has an excellent reputation.

Sounds like it's worth the £'s...thanks!
PS. Is reliability/fuel consumption greatly affected? <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by steve McCulloch:

I haven't been on a dyno yet (27th May) but the car is smoother, quicker and drinks less fuel....

Dave (Rannock)'s car had a fault at the time which he acknowledges, so this certainly isn't representative of the Link.

Well worth it IMHO

Thanks

Gavin

All

I had the Link fitted to my MY98 (by Bob) and it totally transformed my car. It was worth every penny and Bob is a Top Bloke IMHO.

Nice one...Thanks David

Ps...How do you reckon you would par up against a standard model (just to give me an idea of the sort of difference it's gonna make?) <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by davidaprice:

sudass,

You would make more sense and save bandwidth if you were to use the reply button at the bottom of the page, rather than quoteing every post you reply to. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Stef,

You forgot to mention that a Possumed car also came out top on the day http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif. By some margin. Regardless of what I think of the results http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif.

Mark.

davidaprice 18 May 2000 06:19 PM

Sudass,
I cant quote power figures as ive never dyno'd the car, but then what matters is the difference on the road.... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

My car is now very much quicker than before. Since the upgrade it now pulls much harder and for longer up the rev range. Before there seemed little point in going above 5300 rpm, now it pulls strongly to 6,700.

I should point out that I have an HKS Centre and Back section 3" exhaust and HKS HI Flow air filter (DONT call this an Induction Kit or Moray will have your guts for garters http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ).

The whole package works well for me, but the Link was the thing that made the real difference (i know coz I drove the car with the filter and Exhaust before the Link was fitted).

Go Get one !!

Dave

Stef 18 May 2000 06:40 PM

Mark.

It wasn't Possum he was asking about, it was BR Developments...ACTUALLY! :rasp:

Stef.

GavinP 18 May 2000 07:08 PM

Dave (Rannock)'s STi was the car Stef was referring to - see

R19KET 18 May 2000 07:35 PM

Stef,

You're right, but that's like asking about Scoobysport performance products, and not getting info about their exhausts. BRD currently only sell Possum/Link products !!!.

Mark.

bob 18 May 2000 08:33 PM

Top car of the day 20 bhp extra hardly worth a few grands worth of performance extras.
Save your money and go for brake or suspension packages.
I have a performance package on mine and to be honest it is ****e, anyone will tell you.
Just ask Anders or Moray.
Not worth the money for a few poultry BHP.
Bob Iles
Can I not say ****e, ****, Crap, Poo.

Bob.

My car is in surgery awaiting a heart transplant.
I don't really want to speculate as to the cause for this requirement.
I'll keep you all informed.

bob 19 May 2000 07:40 PM

Sudass/
I have the PE Phase 1 with a T75 downpipe and a straight through center section and a Scoobysports backbox. At PE I have
283 BHP & 276 lbs/ft Torque. And at PS I have
243 BHP & 247 lbs/ft Torque.
Have a look at

sudass 20 May 2000 01:22 PM

Cheers bob.....

steve McCulloch 20 May 2000 03:16 PM

Before the link I averaged about 23-25mpg. After the link, and with other goodies, I am currently averaging 25-27 mpg. So a very slight improvement.

I cannot comment on Power Engineering as I have not used them - but I still highly commend Bob - after having gone through the whole process once before on an Escort Cossie, I would say its better to go for the engine mods - I dont care what the dyno readings say (though at Power Engineering you get a big increase in bhp, and torque especially with the link) you notice a significant change - and going further with a bigger turbo - you really do notice the results.
Opt for brakes/suspension if you want to live on a track - other wise I would'nt bother - take the cheap option and go for an antilift kit and rear anti roll bar linkages as well as a powerstation suspension, and I can assure you that your car will handle at least as well as a car with Leda suspension (and you'll have saved yuourself at about a grand - as well as the numerous trips to sort out the suspension! BIG BELLY LAUGH) - and I know having had the Leda set up on the Cossie

MorayMackenzie 20 May 2000 04:25 PM

I'd recommend uprating the brakes before anything else. The standard stoppers are not really up to spirited driving.

It's amusing "impressing" passengers who are used to standard sti brakes with your new safe braking distances... just ask Steve... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
