now vibration is a bit of an understatement. Had the Red Dot brembo hit fitted a few weeks back and the brakes have been vibrating ever since. I know it's fairly rare but it feels like the disks are warped. When braking from fast the vibration is rapid but when braking at slow speeds it feels like there's an on/off relationship between the pads and disks.

The brakes were fitted by my dealer so they've been done properly.......I hope

Any ideas on what it could be would be great.

Cheers
Neil

Just a though, but a lot of discs have a protective coating applied to the surface and this can take time to wear away. If the coating wears unevenly, it can cause horrendous vibration under braking.

Either that or there's some pad deposits on the surface of the disc. Try doing a few large stops (100+) and see if this clears them. Don't let the car come to a complete stop and don't keep your foot on the brake once you've slowed way down (<20 - 30mph).

Also let the brakes warm-up first and let them cool down after the stops.

Mine do this too. Spoke to Red Dot, they said there had baan a few of the Aluminium bell parts that support the disc that were machined a little out of spec and therefore caused the brakes to vibrate. Got mine clocked up and that is indeed the problem, one of my discs runs out by about .004". Red Dot are happy to sort this, I just have to get my butt in gear and pull the discs off and send them back to them.

Speak to Red Dot, they'll sort you out.

Spoke to Red Dot and I'm going to have to go down there for them to take a look. Bloody inconvenient and got me thinking I should have gone the Prodrive route or at least a local supplier....

Yes, must admit that sounds disgraceful - ok they'll sort it out - but should you have to go through this sh*t.... bet they wont pay for the severe inconvenience

I have AP and like nearly everyone have never had any issues..........

Went to Red Dot today and their sevice was excelent. Took the brakes apart and re=machined the bell, reasembled and cleaned the whole setup. Took about 2 hours in all but well impressed.
