Guys

Thought I will try here as i didn't get much response from MLR.

Killermont Motor Company

Had a look at it today and I'm very interested. Just want a bit of advice on buying these motors as I'm not really up to scratch with EVOs. Will probably be trading in my P1.

Cheers

I know a man who does though.

My mate works there!!!!

GordonShek 12 November 2003 10:00 PM

Well? You know what to do then Dougster! I tried to put it through Tescos Online Insurace Qoute using the reg of the vehicle but it came back saying it was a BMW Compact Sport!

Still, it was good to see my insurance quote has gone way down since I've put down that I'm now MARRIED! Around a £1k a difference! Why didn't I get married sooner??????;):D

Dougster 12 November 2003 10:24 PM

It was him you spoke to Gordon. You got your digits right?

What's the script on claiming to be married? We have lived together for over 8 years! Scottish law states a 'common law wife'.

Still would rather pay the premium though!! :D :D :D

Moses

You tube! Is there one in Phoenix? Send me some info please! Maybe tempted to join the dark side............

moses 13 November 2003 07:08 PM

lol doug i didnt know that was kilermont :D

sure gordon mare will get u the number

last time i went their they had a red one and a black one

but do u really wanna spend 25k on a fq300

when u can buy a evo 7 for 17k to 19k and spend 6 to 8k tuning it

evojkp 13 November 2003 07:57 PM

Moses, you don't want to do that, you'd never have the car. BTW, how is yours getting on??

Gordon, main thing to check is a good service history and that the clutch is not on its way out. Test it by getting into third running 3000rpm, floor it and hold til, 6000 rpm. Clutch slip, if present, will be very noticable. This is a £700 repair, more from a main dealer and a known weakness of Evos especially if the previous owner was a launch control freak. I fried mine after a handful of runs at Crail.
If you do go for it, get the AYC fluid changed straight away, just so that you know it is done.
Buy it mate, you won't regret it. Well maybe, when you are never out the petrol station.

..John

moses 13 November 2003 08:13 PM

lol @ john if its tuned properly it will be good but if gordon wants a car to tuen upto 450 bhp the gsr is fine but i rather go for a rs

and mate mines will be ready Godwilling soon as his dyno is up and running within 2 weeks :)

but i will be too nervous to take it out :D after the bad luck i get i think i will park it and just watch it onthe driveway doing nothing :D

dougies549 13 November 2003 09:23 PM

Hi Gordon

Your insurance might have gone down with being married but wait till you see it jump £300 when Michelle wont's on the Insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers dougie

GordonShek 14 November 2003 06:21 AM

Dougie549

I think it'll jump more than £300 mate, Michelle can't drive!!!!! Only driving she does is driving me up the wall with all the things she wants done in the flat!!!! Only kidding, but it's Michelle who wants to keep the P1 and buy mods for it so it can eat EVOs for breakfast...........can't really ask for a better wife can I?;)

Dougster 14 November 2003 06:11 PM

Gordon, did you get my text?

They have a very good imported 95 WRX just in also. Covered in SIDC stickers as well!!

GordonShek 14 November 2003 07:07 PM

Dougster

Yes mate, just got it as I've changed mobile phones as well but using the old one now and again.

Looks like it's a no go anyway as the WIFE is not allowing it.:( But she will let me buy it a few things now and again!:D

dougies549 14 November 2003 07:12 PM

Hi Gordon

It's my spelling that let's me down it was supposed to be £3000, any way what are you thinking of getting for the P1 now then, FMIC Bigger Turbo etc.???????????

Dougie

Still don't fancy cutting the front bumper so might opt for a cheaper option, i.e. a STI8 top mount. Maybe also bits here and there but nothing that will worry you anyway!

Gordon Shek

dougies549 15 November 2003 01:26 PM

Hi Gordon

There are FMIC that don't need the front bumper to be cut, and this would still give you the best of both, Some 1 on here should be able to dirrect you to the right 1 as i don't know it of hand.

Cheers Dougie+Diana :)

Dougster 15 November 2003 01:36 PM

Ask Scoty, don't think he cut his bumper and the black FMIC looks well stealthy!!

GordonShek 15 November 2003 01:51 PM

Why would anyone want stealth? Might be tempted for a gold plated one, in yer face styleeee!

dougies549 16 November 2003 01:29 AM

Hi Dougster

Yep Scoty did have to cut his bumper. I think it is the Blitz 1 that dosn't need the bumper to be cut.

Cheers Dougie :)
