Been looking at upgrading the old AMD 1.7 to a new shiney 2.8mhz Intel system, but i'm alittle confused as to why theres virtually no price difference bewteen a 533mhz and 800mhz chip?
heres a great example .. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...l_CPUs_15.html .. the 800FSB is cheaper infact!? |
i would imagine its because the 533mhz fsb is not very common. most mobos that could take a 2.8ghz chip would support 800mhz fsb so you would get the 800 not 533. a good few years back my mate tried getting a 100mhz fsb 1.4ghz t-bird rather than the 133mhz fsb coz his mobo didnt support it and it didnt come cheap.
