I own a Subaru Type R 1998 and just bought a set of BK 299 18inch Wheels with NANGKANG 225 35 R18 on it and they are catching the rear arches. I was told by Power Zone that the wheels and Tyres were the correct size and type for the car. Can anyone advise what the Correct Tyre Size should be? Also a warning After fitting the Wheels and only covered 25 miles doing about 60 miles per hour the left rear wheel rapidly deflated. Managed to stop the car before hitting anything and was left stranded inside lane of A1. Not very pleased as had my 2 year old daughter and wife in the car. I have refilled the Tyre with air and doesnt seem to be leaking any ideas?

Have left message on shops answer phone will keep you lot upto date with what happens but this was a company that advertises in all major car mags and is called POWER ZONE and they are based in Lancashire.

apparently the correct size is 215/35x18.

you should be fine with those tyres.

Prodrive recommend 225/35/18 on the P1.....

I had 225/35's on my STI 5 with Ledas and had no rubbing issues at all.

Thanks for all the information could the offset of the wheel be incorrect then its ET47

It's my understanding that the offset should be ET48 to ET52. I believe most Prodrive wheels for the Classic are ET52. ET47 will move the wheel too far out. Combine this with 225 tyres.......

mine are 215x35x18's and dont rub on STI RA suspension...that includes track days with car at max compression on corners. Been adviserd 225x35x18's should be ok also...must be rubbing because of existing setup on suspension...

Well been in touch with original supplier and he is sending four new tyres 215/35/18 and said its a bit suck it and see, as both sizes are correct and should fit. As you all may have read that when the new tyre rapidly deflated It damaged one of the alloys he wants to check the tyre then get the tyre manufacturer to admit liability and replace the alloy that way. I got a feeling that the tyre might not be at fault and maybe the fitment as I have been told it might not have been seated correctly is there anyway of checking this when changing the tyre
