Got a 52 WRX with a petty problem - all the discs are rusting on the bells (standard factory parts). I know it seems daft but with the rest of the car looking spot on it seems a shame to have these rusty eye sores sat behind my alloys. Do they all go like that and are there any after market discs that don't end up like that after a few months of being on the car?

They pretty much all do it, however, you could try taking the wheel off, cleaning the rusty bits and then painting them with high temp paint, they'll still rust in time, just a bit slower!
Some better discs are two piece, the bell being alloy, but that needs to be anodised to prevent it corroding, so you never really win! |
Seen it happen on sooooooo many cars, from a variety of different manufacturers. At least it's not rust on the driver's door or rear hatch area. We had that with my Wife's Focus Zetec at 6 months old...

I did mine with hammerite about two years ago and ther're still not looking too bad :D

Replace the fronts with Godspeed alloy bell big discs, and the back with Godspeed discs, grooved. The rears are gold passivated, and mine are still OK after 2 years.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, nice sweetie - you can have Gold Discs to match your handbag swinging wheels then?? ;)

We can also have them silver zinc plated for those without handbags :D
