Is it possible to enter two different workgroup names on XP Pro, so that when the laptop moves between them I do not have to keep changing the workgroup name?

we use this at work http://www.globesoft.com/mnm7_home.asp

I have two profiles on my pc, both on different domains

That looks very interesting. However, before I go that route, another similar question to ask.

When I connected my laptop onto the network at work today (without changing any settings), my office PC showed both workgroups in View Workgroup Computers and I could access both workgroups, but the laptop only showed one workgroup (not the work one)

How can I set up the laptop to show both workgroups like this? (as that would give me the access I need without messing with settings).

Thanks

XP pro by default is not phased be being in the wrong workgroup. I have no idea why your laptop will not see the work machines, but if you go to properties for your network card, highlight "Internet Protocol" and click properties, you should see "alternate configuration" Enter a static IP, Gateway and Subnet mask that relate to your work network and see if that allows you access?

Reconnectedto work network without changing anything and hey presto, both workgroups visible :)

don't you just love the logical way computers work?
