I fitted mine yesterday and localy i got the caution lights to flicker a couple of times when booting it but then it settled and didn't go above the two green lights...

However on a 'private' road last night as i picked speed from 70-80mph and changed gear from 4th to 5th i got ALL the lights to flicker on th KL for about 2seconds and then settle to 1 green light again..

Tried higher speeds upto 110mph after that and it would only flicker to 2nd green light..

Could it have been det that the Ecu corrected?
Has anyone else had somthing like this register on their KL?
Is it something to worry about?

Any advice very much appreciated :)

Hi J4ckson

How do you mean i seem to have got my knocklink pretty quickly? :)

I got my knocklink a couple of months back from this Group Buy that group buy finished some time back i think there is another one going on at the mo in General.

I paid £125 for mine and it was from Br developments.

It doesn't take long to fit although it took me 2 months to get round to finaly fiting it!

I posted a pic Here showing where i mounted the sensor. And there's more info Here

I needed to buy a bolt to mount the sensor as there wasn't one with the kit itself. The bolt was 30mm long and i used a washer too.
Also removed the intercooler whereas some people have managed to install the sensor by just loostening the intercooler...
Its a Bitch geting the intercooler back on! especialy when its dark

Do you know how to get the wires from behind the dash to engine bay where the sensor is?
I'd never done this so i striped the front of the dash to get the wires to the places i needed to..

The power,i suplied from the back of the cigarete lighter you can get to this by removing the stereo or the paneling around the stereo then you can just pull out the cigaret lighter and ash tray compartment.

All in all i'd say it takes upto 1 to 1.5hrs to do but it took me all day fafing about and then when i got stuck in after i had all the right bits it didn't take long :)

I'd advise on geting one for your typeR especialy if youve got mods..
I'm glad i've finally fitted mine at least i know when to back off when its doing something wrong.. for me Booster is a MUST!..

Waiting for my centre pod and then i can mount the LED's from the knocklink display onto the pod along with the gauges (when they finaly arrive) that way i get rid of the square knocklink display stuck on the dash...

If you havn't already done so maybe its worth joining the knocklink groupbuy in general? ;)

Franko

No, mine is a sonic blue type-R with 555 number plate. Work in Wakey so not very often in Dewsbury.

Thanks for all the info. Do need to get one, think the group buys finished though!!

I got the full christmas tree at the top end of second. Just after filling up with optimax.
Looks like the knocklink just paid for itself.
Guess I'll be taking it easy for a bit.

I've seen mine light up to the red, why I really don't know. I was revving the bollox out the engine at the time (in fourth) and as soon as it happened I lifted off ;) It could have ended in tears. Usually I just have the lowest green LED on slightly.
