Picked up my STI this week, I got 7.5% off, if I didn't get that price a was going to walk away :D

There are deals to be done, just stick to your guns and go in with cash ready to spend.

Good Luck

Dave :)

Basically I am looking to upgrade my 01 wrx to a new sti. Should I go and attempt to get it asap or order it for say Jan 2?

cheers,

andy

with interest rate going up I think the Dealer will offer a better deal in the newyear cause lots of peeps with huge mortgages will be eating spam from a tin with all the lights out cause they are skint

what I mean is if the rates go up then the less cash there is floating about so the dealer may feel the pinch too

Andy Porter 06 November 2003 12:05 PM

LOL RB how true  :D

ARM-Scooby 06 November 2003 01:08 PM

thats another point to think about, but i was thinking about selling the car on and so on?

Will it make it better for me in the long run if my car is purchased in jan 04 compared to dec 03 when i come to sell the car or trade it in?

Steve777 06 November 2003 01:13 PM

If you go for an 04 car you will get the DCCD-A on it as standard

However if and when you order make sure that it is 04 spec (i.e. with DCCD-A) and not just an 03 registered in 04

Don't know if price is going up though

ARM-Scooby 06 November 2003 01:27 PM

What is the DCCD and where would i find out about price increases??

churchwa 06 November 2003 01:31 PM

We have an 04 car with us now and it does not have DCCD. I spoke to IM about it the other day and they seemed to think that car was no further down the line. Buy now and save yourself more money because dealers are trying to meet targets, i know we are.

...yeh - if you import one from Japan.. but not for UK cars - we arent worthy ;)

scuse my ignorance folks, but what is DCCD - A? I have an 03 STi (recently bought) but have never heard of this.

Neil W 06 November 2003 02:12 PM

I am also looking to change my 01 WRX for an Sti and have spoken to a few dealers who say that they have got some readily available in their showroom and are VERY KEEN to get rid of them.

Does this mean that I could expect some movement on the list price?

ScrappyDoo2 06 November 2003 03:26 PM

I too would like to change my 02 WRX for a new STI - whats the going rate or cost to change rather (fairly modified - morrettes, 22B type spoiler, blitz+decat, EcuTek, Eibachs etc) rough estimates welcomed (from recent experience at dealers).

simo 06 November 2003 03:27 PM

dealers have stock and are keen to get rid - will I get a price reduction?

have you been in and asked ? Not being funny but if you show him the colour of your money he can only say no. I got £1200 off, £500 off 18 wheel/tyre upgrade & 10% off ppp. Mind you 2nd car in 2 years :)

go ask, if he does not play ball go somewhere else :)

cheers simon

Got a test drive booked for Saturday so will see what sort of deal I get then.

sillysi 06 November 2003 03:45 PM

Just for info I traded a MY01 WRX, Prodrive headlights, Prodrive wing, Prodrive mesh upper & lower grills, Prodrive back box, Defi 3 gauge setup, 19K miles & 18 months old got £13500 in July this year.

clarence 06 November 2003 05:27 PM

DCCD is the driver controllable centre diff.

Neil W 10 November 2003 11:19 AM

OK, I have finally done it - traded my MY01 for a new STi8

Will be picking it up on Friday/Saturday:D

ARM-Scooby 10 November 2003 11:55 AM

got mine on order too.

Neil W 10 November 2003 12:02 PM

Well done ARM-Scooby.

Did you get a good deal on your WRX? I got quite a good deal on mine considering how much they have reduced recently.

When do you pick it up then?

Jza 10 November 2003 12:44 PM

Neil - just out of interest (as im thinking of doing the same thing) how much did they offer you in P/X?

If you could let me know i could use that as a bargaining tool !!

Jza

Neil W 10 November 2003 12:53 PM

Jza,

Not exactly sure how the pricing was done as I was really only interested in what the gap was.

However, glasses guide quote trade with 32k on the clock £11,500

SPelham 10 November 2003 01:21 PM

Neil you finally went for it then !! When are you going to take me out for a test drive !! :D

Simon

Neil W 10 November 2003 01:25 PM

ARM-Scooby 10 November 2003 02:20 PM
