Pick up brand new WRX on 22nd. Finally took the plunge. Have been drivin a 2.0GX sport (52 plate). Was pleasantly surprised when I rang insurance as they originally quoted increase of £170 for the year to change. (just renewed a few weeks ago with Direct Line).
Rang them the other day to confirm date for pickin car up and happened to get on subject of other half. When I mentioned we are engaged, they said that classes her under spouse / havin vested interest in scooby and knocked £70 of the £170. Result !!!
That will go nicely in the dump valve fund :D

Thinking about it, that's nuts, how do you legally prove that your engaged (or not). Say you have a big argument, she throws the ring at you, you fly off and stack it up on the way home, are you insured, are you still engaged. If your married, technically your still married untill decree nicie (sp.) but an engagement is not a legal contract so must be hard to prove.

Congrats on the engagement anyway, Ive been married for 11 yrs with 3 kids now and can only recommend it.;)

Same here , got a quote for the STi8 , other half ( engaged / living together ) asked to go on the insurance , I said no problem as long as it doesnt cost too much ( confident that it would cost too much ), they knocked £180 off

But dont tell her ;)
