This has probably been covered before but I was unable to locate the solution (search facility down).

I purchased a boost gauge today (mechanical) which come with wires (presumably for backlight) and rubber pipe.

Trouble is I cant figure out where exactly the pipe is supposed to go...was trying to work off BIG500 guide which is v helpful:

http://www.photobucket.com/display.php?dir=/albums/0903/big500/boost%20gauge&currentPic=4&sort=

...but the pics suggest that the pipe should be fitted after the stock re-circulating dump valve with a T-piece...trouble is I have a HKS SSQV on mine so cant figure out whether to fit the pipe before or after the HKS SSQV and whether I need a t-piece.

Also will most car parts shops sell the T-piece if I need it?

All help appreciated.

Just been on Chiark's website which was v helpful...

Now its working...but the needle don't seem to move much over zero. The gauge is read by 'bar' and I'm not too familar with the psi to bar conversion. I know the car should peak at 17.4psi but have know idea how this converts into 'bar' or what gear this should be acheived in?

Cheers Weava.

Me thinks the psi is better to read than bar. O well, i guess i will just have to get used to it

no pobs mate - someone dug it out for me when i had a similar question.

merely returning the favour:D !

i also prefer the psi as is clearer, but as you say you will get used to it.

Cheers,

Weava
