Guys/Gals

I have an STI IV type R and want to put an STI VI bumper on mine. What differences are there in the mounting and how difficult is it to do?
Someone mentioned to me that they have different beams(the cars that is). Would a version 6 beam fit a version 4 or will the version 6 bumper fit on to a version 4 beam?
Please help if you have or have had the experience
Ta!

Joseph,

Quite a few people have done ehis modification, and quite a lot of it has been documented here.

Do a search, but if you don't have any luck, drop me a mail and I'll see what I can dig up for you.

That's right it's been done before and I have
seen examples in a number of countries .

But I don't know if it is a direct bolt on job or if any mods are required.

One thing for sure though the cars look much
cooler with the 99'-00'/ type VI bumper .

I'm not sure what type of bumper you have on the Type R but I upgraded the MY98 bumper on my car to a MY00 version after vandals damaged the original.

It was expensive to do (used dealer) but looks much better. I also needed to replace the indicators and the front grille.

Hope this helps

Laurence
