Not content with just generating money by hitting the motorist the government are also trying stop law abideding, tax paying citizens even having fun! A speed limit is being imposed on lake windermere in 2005 to stop water skiing and people generally enjoying themselves . Visit the windermere action force website to see what this lousy government are up to and make sure you sign the petition.

This has been going on for years - the main target was jetskiers.

i know, i've just been too lazy to post it up on here. I've been going to the lakes regularly for 15 years to water ski and its all about to stop :( Its going to kill windermere like it did to a lot of other places 20 odd years ago when they banned it on the 11 other lakes and said that windermere would be left alone for the power boats to enjoy themselves! Alot of my family live around lake Windermere, my perception is that most of the local business comunity are against the ban - most normal people full stop actually. It's the selfish do gooders that think they have the god given right to decide what everyone else can or can't do in the countryside. The woolly hat brigade should see that there is room for everyone as long as it's policed properly.
The same problem exists with ramblers shutting down green lanes for trail riding.

Live and let live is what I say. I bet alot of them are bibble bashers that think that anyone not adherring to their version of god should be burnt at the stake.
