Steve, it's possible to get the older style "twin" jets from a main dealer if you push the point (tell them you have a 22B Type UK if they can't find them on their system).
Don't have the part number handy unfortunately, but they definitely are available - and should cost considerably less than a pair from the likes of Graham Goode. [Edited by greasemonkey - 11/1/2003 6:41:49 PM] |
how many spray nozzles does a my99 sti have for the intercooler. As i have bought one today (subaru say there is only one fitted) and i always thought there was 2 fitted to them
|
You're right, there should be two. If by "Subaru" you mean a UK dealer, the only models with waterspray that they're aware of will be the new age STi type UK, which do indeed have a single nozzle.
|
will this still be adaquite enough as it will be from the new sti one
|
Eh - its only the Type R's/22's that have the spray
So I guess your on about the 2 door ones Aftermarket you have 2 sprayors onto the topmount |
You are incorrect Fangoria, it's not just the Type R's and 22B that have intercooler waterspray. All the new age STi's have it - including the Type UK, as mentioned previously.
Steve, do you actually have the waterspray fitted to your car as standard equipment, or are you trying to add it on? I believe I'm correct in thinking that the new type of waterspray jet designed for the single point mounting is a different design from the "twin" ones found in the Type R. Thus, if you are trying to replace a worn or blocked jet in an existing system, fitting one of the new ones is likely to produce less than optimal results. If however you are attempting to retrofit a water spray system to a car that didn't previously have it, the single jet would probably work acceptably (you'd have to mount it in the middle of the I/C apron for best results), although even then I doubt it would dowse the intercooler as effectively as the twin system.
