notice recently that it sounds like Ive got two rattlesnakes fighting in the engine bay, could have been like it all along but only notioced it recently, from just in front of the steering wheel so Im assuming wastegate or turbo, noticeable when coming off throttle, any ideas guys?
Have got decat downpipe, centre and SS silencer, green cotton filter, boost controller.

Cracked heat shield on the manifold? It makes a horrible noise!!

It's not far away from where you're talking about.

Depends on which model scoob you have, it could be as bad as det, that will sound like that due to the colder weather and as stated, model dependent, it could be down to you having a full decat (a knocklink/boost gauge would help you here).

Being as you've got a boost controller, I would hazard a guess and say have a look at your OEM boost solenoid on the driver's side suspension mounting.

That can make a mad repetetive click like you were describing.

Try having someone rev the car slightly at idle with the bonnet up and yu have a listen to see where it's coming from.

Cheers

got a MY99 uk on optimax.
seems to be when the negative pressure is at max on the boost gauge, ie after coming off throttle, a light acceleration causes it to go.
a numpties (*ie me) opinion is that it also sounds a little like a propellor slowly winding down after spinning at high speeds, similar to a rattlesnake...? doubtfull.
