I have been offered the option of a Lacro paint sealant on my new scooby. It is supposed to remove the need to polish the car and protect it from bird lime etc.

Has anyone had experience of this ?

Is it better than using a good polish ?

My MY99 has Lacro. I bought the car when it was three months old, so the previous owner had it done. It looks great and increases your paint warranty. It protects from bird lime, increased protection from stone chipping and over the years prevents sun fade - which helps when you come to sell the car if it hasn't lost any of its lustre.

But you have to apply the Lacro top up once a month, which isn't too much of a pain. Not sure on the cost, but the car looks great with it on.

Thanks for the info Pete.

Sounds like this could be a good move.

what is the cost of the Lacro treatment?

Speak to Mark the Wax Wizard on this one, from earlier posts I believe its not worth the money - large dealer mark-ups etc, especially not if you have to re-apply once a month, I wax once a month with Zymol from the Wax Wizard and I bet I get a better finish. IMHO.
