Ok - the side light has gone on my car - and its only 9 months old. I notice that its impossible to get at the bulb from the inside? - so I undid the top screw and tried to remove the side light housing - no success! - then I noticed that there were a couple of retaining clips - so I tried to force the housing - still no success!
Can anyone tell me how to change the side light at the front as its starting to really irritate me! Thanks |
Steve,
Thereis only one screw holding it in (the one you have undone on the top of the headlight). The only thing holding it in is a plastic V type clip. The "clip" holds the lamp onto the endge of the wing. You have to "sternly" pull/force the lamp forwards, making sure u dont break the screw bracket off the top. Once you realise how its fixed in, you'll kick yaself... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif J. |
Good luck Steve !!
I had one go a couple of months back and boy oh boy did I have a game getting it out ... when you do actually get it out ( the light that is http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ) like firefox said you will kick yourself. Just so easy to scratch your bodywork http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif though..... K |
C'mon Steve - man of your talents? Even I managed to change mine!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Seriously - undo screw on top, get fingers into rubber at rear of light and pull forward - hard! Just 'pops out'. Good Luck http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif - If you don't manage it, I'll show you.... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif |
Very timely post- mine's just gone too (9 months old!).
Must admit I haven't looked to fix it yet- think I'll have a look now after the GP. ANyone know what type of bulb it is? |
Blimey.
it took longer to write the post than swap that bulb. Don't know what the fuss was all about http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif |
Ok, Ok, thanks for the...... sarcasm..... everyone
I'll have a go tonight - just thought I was putting too much force into it for it to be that simple - and I aint a small chap! Tis a bit annoying for the bulb to go within a year though - drivers side (wonder why?) |
