hi i have a k&n filter on my scooby, it has been on there sinse i bought it.
i took it off the other day to clean and re-oil and i noticed that the air flow sensor was covered in oil presumibly from the k&n, what is the best thing to clean the oil off with because im sure the oil on the little wire will not do it any good and will cause false readings and as it looks quite delicate i wanted to know what to clean it with.

any advice would be appreciated

thanks weis 101

i have just cleaned my MAF myself, although it didnt look oily, it did look dirty

i used tar and glue remover on a cotton bud, this is the liquid type not the paste

Carburetter cleaner in an aerosol can. Spray it on but dont direct the full force off the spray on the Sensor as its very fragile. Let it dry naturaly

DO NOT TOUCH IT THOU OR YOU WILL BE LOOKING AT NEW MAFF

i touched mine many times, maybe there not as fragile as u think?

thats not to say that u can prod it with a posidrive screwdriver

Brake cleaner would be a good bet, aerosol spray, I wouldn't advise touching it though.
