why don't we make a page to go on chiarks website on speakers for subaru.

Questions like 'which speaker' and 'what size' and 'best place to buy' MUST be the most commonly asked questions on here, coming up every week.

The benefit in doing this would be to bring everyone's experience and knowledge together, and for people who are asking about this stuff to see ALL advice rather than just from those who respond.

We could split this into price category, with general review and possible list of suppliers - and get them to pay a royalty for their links on a page. Hey, i plug cel-direct enough, I should already be on theior payroll ;) Links to guys like these and recomended on line sites would help all of us. I could give advice on focal, magnat, dynaudio and atomic (the last one i wouldn't even touch now!!) - but thats the point i'm making why not put all teh info in one place where people can make th ebest informed decision?

Chiark? Guys? What do you think?

I for one think it's a great idea, but include Leggy speakers in there too!!

Yes, that'd be great. Just post here what you've got car-wise, and speaker wise, and I'll keep updating...

focal polyglass 135 - square basket so easy fit with a collar, very clear and accurate.

btw all the subaru speakers in my98 and similar phase 1 subes are 16cm in diameter, front and parcel shelf - but most of you knew that already!!

boston fs series - good clarity and all round music speaker, more 'subtle' than the focal (tweeter less brash) good bass response from 6.5"

Magnat - good value components (tried the £50 quid ones - bull power - from caraudiodirect.co.uk), suprised at how good they are for a budget speaker

Atomic - ok, but speakers broke and wouldn't go near them again. far better speakers around for the same money (cost me 200 quid)

JL subs - good spl and sq, go for the w6 or w7 as higher power and better response. (but all depends on how good your box is...)

Diamond Audio MacDaddy - excellent response accross all bass frequencies, needs a high power amp to drive the 4 ohm load on my SVC 10", great SQ.

Keep 'em coming - this should stop the "what fits" questions :D

For MY01 +, Phoenix Gold 6.5" components will fit with 18mm spacer (just) as the magnet is very deep. For rear doors (in saloon anyway) any 4" coax drops in perfectly....

Rear shelf? Don't ask.....
