My first post has gone so here it is again ...

Collected my First Scooby Monday 20/10/03,

1/04/1999 S reg Face-lift WRX STi Version 5 (Imported 1999 aswell) in Silver with 63,000 on the clock, in superb condition inside and out, Brembo 6 pots up front, 17" Gold Mim multi spoke alloys, Leda B Coil over suspension, Scooby Sport stainless exhaust and the car has been serviced and maintained at Graham Goode's.

I have just been looking through the vast amount of receipts that came with the car and there is a certificate from PROTECH Automotive Diagnostics that confirms the speedometer has been converted to UK Spec (Conversion was done 1/4/1999), but says that the mileage has NOT been converted, so the slightly high 63,000 miles are not high after all as this is in Kilometers, not miles (The Garage i brought it from didn't know that!). This would explain why the car looks like its just rolled off the production line!

Anybody know the coverstion factor for kilometers to miles?, it kind of says on the certificate but doesn't make sense ?

Any body else had this type of conversion done?, why didn't they change the mileage aswel?, for legal reasons maybe?

100kmh is about 60mph... so your car has done about 37800 miles (assuming it hasnt done any since 1/4/1999, which is highly unlikely)... just take the KMS and multiply by 0.6

Normally when they convert the speedo, they change the oddmeter to miles. So to get your correct milage you need to juggle some
figures, ie. on my last import...
The certificate showed the conversion was done at 83000 km.
The oddmeter now shows 102000, so..
83000 km = 51575 miles +
102000 - 83000 = 19000
total in miles = 51575 + 19000 = 70575.
clear as mud.
