has anyone ever tried to face lift an early impreza, is it as simple as fitting a later bonnet grille and head lights?

Do a search M8, its well looked into. What you need is:

Bonnet
Scoop
Vents
Grille
Headlights

And Bumper if you want MY99 Style

Ive looked into it myself. Costs - £800 supplied fitted and painted genuine sources.

Or you could try sifting through scrap yards.

Regards

Let me know how you get on

Rich i've fitted a prima front spliter and a 22b front grille and the difference is amazing and all of this for £230 excluding the painting,

Nick WRX
Where did you get your grille? Is it a revolution style one?

I think Im right in thinking that this style of grille will fit the older bonnets and is independant of the front bumper. Is this correct do we think?
Therefore, an MY99 bumper could be fitted together with the aftermarket grille (revolution style) and still retain the original bonnet (but therefore grilles and scoop too). Well worth doing in my opinion.

Richie, your right it is a revolution grill, and it fit's straight on with a bit of sanding down, and can be used with a 99 bumper .
Just waiting for revolution to develope the new shape vents for the bonnet.

Hi Nick,

Does the Rev grille fit good after the sanding, and what colour does it come as?

Cheers http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

RichieC 02 November 2000 05:14 PM

Sobarlo,

It comes primed and ready to paint. Cost is £99 from Revolution 0191 477 0785.

NickWRX,
Any idea when theyre doing the late style vents and scoop?? Ive been pestering Glenn regularly and no joy http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

nickwrx 02 November 2000 06:17 PM

Sobarlo, the grill comes in fibre glass and is primed in a brown colour, but i had to cut the two little locating lugs at the bottom of the old grill and stick them on the new grill , but other then that it fits alright.

Richie, i've been phoning glenn for the later styled vents for months now and he keeps saying a couple of months , so in the end i told him to give me a ring when he has them.

Just spoke to Glenn and he reckons no later than end of this month. No joy with the new style scoop for old style cars (sounds awful that doesnt it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif) but Im looking into getting a good bodyshop to fit an aftermarket scoop. Its been done on Corsas and all sorts so it cant be that hard to fit one to an Impreza !!

So we wait with baited breath to see if these vents arrive. Theyre 22B style and will go for about £99 set, hes got 100 sets on order.

Regards

Richie

If you want to see the revolution grille it's In the Members area under My motor.

There is a front shot of my car with it on.

Glen from Revolution is a good bloke, and really busy with designing new stuff for the scooby, it will all be available in time, what he does is test it first either on his car or mine, to see if it is satisfactory to sell.

He is currently developing a downepipe and exhaust system for the scoob, and from what I have see from the prototypes, It looks very nice indeed.

I have no connection with Revolution, Glen is just a good friend of mine.
