Impreza wagon, 1.X ????

It wouldnt go up hills unless I ragged the SH*te out of it...and they removed the cigarette lighter and ashtray so had to use the floor.

edited cause I am having spelling lessons :)

NACRO 16 October 2003 02:31 PM

I was given a 2.0 Sport GX Blobeye- it was very, very slow but handled well enough despite it's extremely light steering.

Bondy 16 October 2003 02:43 PM

I had mine in for a service yesterday, they gave me an 03 plate Impreza Sport Wagon. It was very nice.

ZIPPY 16 October 2003 02:46 PM

Forrester Turbo, manual and automatic,it was great as it has the worlds biggest sunroof and lots of poke.
I refuse to drive the other option (Toyota Yaris)

Franx 16 October 2003 03:01 PM

I got a Yaris....:( Smallest boot in the world, nearly rivalling a mini, I thought, and power to match it. Kind of annoying digital speedo as well. Nice idea, but you see the numbers moving from the corner of your eye https://www.gamers-forums.com/smilie.../corkysm26.gif

Buzzer 16 October 2003 03:03 PM

I got a ford KA

I thought it was great and Wife wants to trade her Polo in for one now :(

greasemonkey 16 October 2003 03:09 PM

Nice idea, but you see the numbers moving from the corner of your eye
Erm, that's the whole point of it! ;)

Valley Boy 16 October 2003 03:21 PM

I got a red YRV like that during my service. Looked exactly like Postman Pat's van and was just as fast! It is so bad you can't help but rag the nuts off it.

Paul Woodward 16 October 2003 03:23 PM

I got an Isuzu pick-up once, not the best drive I've ever had!

JockyTT 16 October 2003 03:29 PM

MY03 STi. Their reasoning is that they want you to stay with Subaru and trade up......

works for me ;)

Silverback@work 16 October 2003 03:39 PM

STi????!!!!

I get a crappy Daihatsu each and every time and they now want you to pay £20 to reduce the insurance excess (otherwise it is £1,000!!!!!!!)

Not sure they are trying to keep me with that little bit of fun and games

Trick 16 October 2003 03:47 PM

std classic Impreza that looks pants with its 15" steelies or are they 14"?, but handles well and is a good laugh

hercules29 16 October 2003 04:20 PM

A 03 wrx with leather and a sunroof

dr_ming 16 October 2003 05:04 PM

silverback,

From you post I conclude that you are probably using the same dealer as me. I have to say, I am not at all impressed with them attitude wise, and I am trying to find an alternative (they are expensive too). Stiffing you £20 for such a cr@p car, and still having a £250 excess is seriously taking the pi55. The garage I take my wife's car to charges £4, the cars are better (marginally), and there is no excess if you damage it.

16vmarc 16 October 2003 05:07 PM

if they gave me a legacy or forrester id b happy!!!, hell id even take a justy!!! pmsl

jmk 16 October 2003 05:48 PM

Had PPP done at Cross Roads and got a Legacy. Excess and petrol only cost £1.50 (they must have made an error) for 1/2 day's use and approx 100 miles. Excellent.

T-1000 16 October 2003 06:17 PM

A Daihatsu Charade (Noddy Car) . No charge for insurance though I thought Id better put some petrol in. Put £8 in thinking it would last the day. Did about 60 mile and the needle didnt budge from the half full line.

Sticky Stuff 16 October 2003 06:22 PM

The last four, in order were...

Fiat *unto 1/2 day
Vauxhall Corsa 2 days
Forester AllWeather 3 weeks !!!!!
Renault 'Fat-ass' Megane 2 days (Loadsa toys...footwell lights in all four doors...credit card key thingy...and lights that turn themselves on when it gets dusky (I'll know it's time to give up driving when I can't be ar5ed turning on the lights.)

BTW, that's not a YRV, it's a Terios. YRV's are kinda funky looking little hatch's

KaraK 17 October 2003 12:13 AM

I generally get a Citreon C3 (they are awful, sheer awfulness on four wheels!) Last time however I got a Pug 106 1.1, it was well fun! Being made of tinfoil it out accelerated the crappy 1.4 C3 a hundred times over, actually handled aswell.

little'un 18 October 2003 05:59 PM

Fiat Punto with £1000 Insurance XS!

NXG 18 October 2003 06:10 PM

Buzzer,

You'll be going to Westaway like me then :) That KA sucks doesn't it .... The most dangerous thing you can give a Scooby owner I think. Talk about having to change your driving style!! Whooaaa.

Steve

WRX Wannabe 18 October 2003 06:49 PM

I have the YRV @ the moment ;)

Not bad for a 1.3 :D

They do a TURBO 130 BHP 0-60 in 8 secs  :D

JohnnyR6 18 October 2003 09:20 PM

Me wifes focus as i look after my own car or if i'm unlucky the bus.

Tim66 STi8 18 October 2003 09:48 PM

A 5 year old Subaru Justy with a boot that would't stay shut.

jpor 18 October 2003 10:40 PM

1 Year old 2.5 litre Subaru Legacy estate.
7 Year Old Subaru Legacy 2 litre Saloon.
03 Impreza Sport (nippy. Nice handling. But no Turbo)

sulli 18 October 2003 11:39 PM

03 Legacy - Very nice car, got some very admiring looks in it surprisingly.
I have heard no mention of insurance excess for it. Only talk of insurance was when I asked why I couldn't get a car of similar power, like a new WRX Sti - they said they couldn't insure them as easily, so I would have to cover that on my own policy. So presumably no insurance excess on the Legacy (well maybe not, but as they didn't mention it they couldn't enforce it). Also came with half a tank of petrol, and went back with a lot less :D
Pick up my car and it's been washed and waxed and gearbox rebuilt under warranty at a cost of 1400 quid :D :D
No probs with Subaru here - and I really like that Legacy - if it came with 280 Bhp, i'd buy one.

Pete The Biker 19 October 2003 10:02 AM

I had a Legacy estate once.... nearly stacked it on the way back to the dealer, down the country lanes.

I was just doing my normal speed, as I was in no particular hurry (brisk but not fast), when the back end started fishtailing. I hadn't made allowances for the fact that it handled like a barge, compared with my MY00 Impreza Turbo.

Its the most scared I have been for ages.

BLACK V5 19 October 2003 12:35 PM

Tiley of bristol give you a choice. Crappy old justy for free or for 10 quid a nearly new WRX.
