Try these.....

Liverpool Victoria (0800 608608) - £820
Barclays Insurance (0870 6001414) - £864
Keith Michaels plc (0181 642 7868) - £928
Adrian Flux (01553 777888) - £1050

These are the quotes I got.

Insurance is turning into a proper nasty game at the moment...car is popular...car gets bad press...can gets nicked...REVs magazine portray the car as a getaway vehicle (are-souls http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif) premiums are high.

We used to have a MY97 car which cost us £620 to insure (via Keith Michaels Norwich Union Club) including mods (downpipe, mid and backbox from scoobysport, airfilter) and use on trackdays.

We got a new MY00 car just before Xmas and the renewal has rissen to £1043 !!!
including the same mods plus OZ 17" wheels.

We can only really use Norwich Union because of all the trackday stuff we do.

OK...we could get trackday cover from another place but the premium each time would be high due to the value of the car.

Be very careful if you intend to use your car on the track (and you have a named driver on your policy who wishes to drive as well). NU said that ONLY the policyholder is insured to use the vehicle on the track !!! - this is a problem as I did 4 trackdays last year as a named driver...thanks a bunch for telling me Keith Michaels http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Be careful...ask all questions up front and get the broker to confirm everything.

Ring Mark at OPI (0870 242 0800) and mention my name.

I have never known him beaten 'like for like', on any car.

DirectLine were the best for a MY00 with a tracker but Cat 1 was not required.
